18.05.11 - Aerodrome and equipment certification committee of Interstate aviation committee (IAC) issued certificate №532 for modern modification of autonomous monopulse secondary radar with mode S

Aerodrome and equipment certification committee of Interstate aviation committee (IAC) issued certificate №532 for modern modification of autonomous monopulse secondary radar with functions of enhanced surveillance in mode ADS-B 1090 ES «Aurora»

Creating MSSR with mode S «Aurora-2» the experience of previously developed and operation of combined MSSR «Aurora» with function of enhanced surveillance in mode ADS-B 1090 ES (2008 year) as well as officially accepted decision on mode S realized in MSSR «Aurora-S» (2011 year) was considered.

MSSR «Aurora» with function in mode ADS-B 1090 ES – is the new generation of surveillance aids developed by VNIIRA. Creating MSSR with mode S «Aurora-2» the 12-year experience of previously developed and operation of MSSR «Aurora» and further pass to automatic dependent surveillance (ADS-B) was considered.
The radar incorporates both traditional RBS surveillance interrogation channel (modes 1, 2, 3/А, С) and separate surveillance channel – ADS-B 1090 ES thus combining customary MSSR and 4-channel ground station ADS-B 1090ES.

The radar fully meets the requirements of ICAO Annex 10, volume 4 regarding MSSR and DO-260A RTCA the USA – regarding ADS-В 1090 ES.

VNIIRA is far more than:

|70 years of the successful performance for the benefit of air safety;
| 150 prototypes of radio-technical systems and the complex of ground and airborne facilities radio instruments;
| 1 300 inventors’ certificates and patents;
| 60 complexes of ATC automation systems and facilities for airports and regional centers of Russia and other countries;
| 100 types of aircrafts and helicopters employ the airborne equipment, navigation and landing facilities developed by VNIIRA
